On the occasion of the visit of Mariinsky Orchestra at Konzerthaus in Vienna, Sberbank Europe invited Austrian leaders, key decision makers as well as its top corporate clients to enjoy the classic concert conducted by the famous Russian conductor Valery Gergiev. Gergiev is general director of the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg and Chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic. The Management Board of Sberbank Europe AG, led by the CEO Gerhard Randa, hosted the evening and welcomed guests like the former Austrian President Heinz Fischer and his wife Margit, the Governor of the Austrian National Bank Ewald Nowotny, the Russian Ambassador to Austria, Dmitri Ljubinski, the second President of the Austrian Parliament Karlheinz Kopf and Sberbank Europe’s President of the Supervisory Board Siegfried Wolf. Around 300 guests followed Sberbank’s invitation to the concert.

As Russia’s largest bank, Sberbank has been promoting cultural activities for many years. This year, Sberbank celebrates its 175 anniversary since its foundation in 1841. On the sidelines of this special occasion, Sberbank is promoting a series of cultural events within its global network, like concerts of the Mariinsky Orchestra in Vienna and Prague or a popular jazz festival in Sarajevo. In Austria, Sberbank Europe is aiming to strengthen the connection of the Austrian and the Russian culture, establishing Sberbank’s visibility in Austria as a bank with a strong network when doing business in Russia/CIS.
